Alan Quilley

Alan is the president of Safety Results Ltd., an occupational health and safety consulting firm based in Sherwood Park, Alberta. Alan has more than 20 years of experience in the OHS field and is the author of the bestselling book The Emperor Has No Hard Hat.

Bernard Dufour

Bernard Dufour has been working at the Commission de la santé et de la sécurité du travail du Québec (CSST) for more than 10 years and is an expert advisor for partnerships outside of Québec. He previously worked as scientific professional at the Institut de recherche Robert-Sauvé en santé et sécurité du travail. Bernard holds degrees in physical therapy, exercise physiology and ergonomics.

Bernard Dufour travaille à Commission de la santé et de la sécurité du travail du Québecdepuis (CSST) plus de 10 ans et est conseiller-expert aux partenariats extérieurs. Auparavant, il a travaillé comme professionnel scientifique à l'Institut de recherche Robert-Sauvé en santé et sécurité du travail. Bernard détient des diplômes en physiothérapie, en physiologie de l'exercice et en ergonomie.

Dennis Ryan

Dennis is the president Compass Health and Safety, an OHS consulting firm based in Edmonton, Alberta. He holds an occupational hygiene technologist and CRSP designations, and has managed health and safety programs for large corporations for over 25 years. He is the author of Yes You Can…Conduct Your Own Safety Perception Survey.

Dennis Ryan est président de Compass Health and Safety, société d’experts-conseils en matière de santé et de sécurité au travail établie à Edmonton (Alberta). Technologue en hygiène industrielle et professionnel en sécurité agréé (CRSP), il gère des programmes de santé et de sécurité pour diverses grandes sociétés depuis plus de 25 ans. Il est l’auteur de Yes You Can… Conduct Your Own Safety Perception Survey.

Douglas Rourke

Douglas Rourke is the manager of Safety Groups for Excellence in Manufacturing, the largest consortium of manufacturers in Canada. For the past 20 years, Doug has worked as a registered nurse, an occupational health nurse, manager of EHS for a multinational defense company and most recently, at the Excellence in Manufacturing Consortium. Doug is a certified Six Sigma expert, stressing a business approach to safety. He believes that “safety adds to the bottom line, it does not take away profit.” Doug currently supports more than 200 companies for the WSIB Safety Group program, and more than 900 companies for the EMC 360° Safety Program. Doug’s belief in safety for all employees, companies and contractor drives his passion for education and sharing of best practices.

Glyn Jones

Glyn is the University of New Brunswick’s lead instructor in its Health, Safety, and Environmental Processes Certificate program, and was part of a group of OHS professionals that created the UNB Certificate program in 2008. He is currently the Calgary chapter chair of the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering.

Glyn Jones est moniteur en chef du certificat en santé, en sécurité et en processus environnementaux de l’Université du Nouveau-Brunswick. Il a d’ailleurs fait partie du groupe de professionnels de la santé et de la sécurité au travail qui a créé ce programme en 2008. Il est également président de la section régionale de Calgary de la Société canadienne de la santé et de la sécurité au travail.

Linda Scott

Linda is the senior program manager for organizational effectiveness and learning with The Conference Board of Canada.

Mike McKenna

As executive director of the BC Construction Safety Alliance (BCCSA), Mike McKenna brings to his position a passion for occupational health and safety and extensive industry knowledge and expertise that spans over 20 years. Mike graduated in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation Medicine from the University of BC. He began his career as an occupational therapist at GF Strong Rehabilitation Centre where he worked for 10 years. He joined WorkSafeBC in 1996 as an occupational therapist, but soon transitioned into management where he eventually became the liaison to the construction industry, assisting companies with assessment, claims and health and safety concerns. Prior to joining BCCSA, he spent three years as a director and part owner of OrionHealth, a private rehabilitation company specializing in treating injured workers in BC and Alberta.

Peter Sturm

Peter is the president of the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering. He is a safety professional with over 25 years experience in health, safety and disability management.

Peter Sturm est président de la Société canadienne de la santé et de la sécurité au travail, et directeur du service de collaboration à la Commission de la sécurité professionnelle et de l’assurance contre les accidents du travail de l’Ontario.

Phil Germain

Phillip is the executive director of prevention at the Saskatchewan Workers’ Compensation Board and has been working as a health and safety professional since 1993. He has worked with various industries in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba including construction, manufacturing and petroleum.

Phillip Germain est directeur général de la prévention à la commission des accidents du travail de la Saskatchewan. Professionnel de la santé et de la sécurité depuis 1993, il a travaillé dans divers secteurs (construction, fabrication et industrie pétrolière) en Alberta, en Saskatchewan et au Manitoba.
